Experience Matters in this Service Industry

ESGCal has more than 30 years of experience in calibration services

Experience matters regarding training, maintenance, and calibration in all types of environmentally controlled equipment and their monitoring electronic/mechanical devices.  ESGCal delivers proficiency and accuracy in all different industries and has more than 30 years of experience in day-to-day services worldwide. This includes Laboratories, Manufacturing, Processing, and Transporation.

conditioned environments Calibration Services

ESGCal services all equipment with controlled temperature, humidity, or pressure (altitude) environments.   We service and calibrate equipment used in various industries, including Research, Medical, Pharmaceutical, Food processing, Laboratories, Manufacturing, Transportation, and Government agencies.  Our service team operates in over 36 countries internationally, as permitted by our A2LA accreditation.

Any process, standard, or requirement that mandates controlling a product’s environment or performance-endurance testing will require calibration services.  Industries like Aerospace (NASA), Aviation (FAA), Automotive (DOT – ASTM), Food Processing (HACCP), Medical (NIST – CLIA), and Products (ASTM – ISO – Others) all require calibration mandates. We are ready to test the chamber, controller, and remote monitoring equipment and their systems. The primary purpose of calibration is to ensure that measuring instruments are accurate and reliable. Calibration involves comparing a device’s measurements to a known standard.  We will provide your company with results you can rely on, such as trustworthy controls and monitoring systems.

Micheal Macauley, Owner and Operator of Equipment Services Group LLC, stated, All environmentally controlled environments or monitoring must be instrumented with calibrated traceable devices.”

ESGCal is willing to help any company to create a plan to create a reliable control calibration process for their company.

Our Services in Corrosion Testing?

Corrosion testing is the process of evaluating how materials, especially metals, degrade or deteriorate when exposed to environmental conditions such as moisture, chemicals, temperature variations, and mechanical stress. It helps predict material lifespan, identify weaknesses, and ensure compliance with industry standards.  ESGCal is an authorized service center for Auto Technology and Ascott Analytical equipment.  This means that ESGCal provides the following services.

Services That ESGCal Provides On Corrosion Cabinets

  1. Installation – At delivery, ESGCal will be there to perform the setup and installation of the equipment. As part of the process, we will ensure that the equipment works and operates properly.
  2. Training – As part of the chamber setup, we will work together on how to set up and maintain this equipment to specific standards. This will include the type of supplies and replacement equipment that should be on hand. We will also review the water, air, and materials needed to keep the chamber compliant with the test standards.
  3. Calibration – ESGCal will put together a plan for the calibration program that should be maintained on this equipment.
  4. Repair and Maintenance – ESGCal will put together a plan that meets your needs should there be an issue with the equipment. We will do remote diagnostics or walk you through a diagnostic issue. We will provide a maintenance schedule to provide on-site care. If an issue can’t be solved remotely, we can provide a service repair person.

Types of Corrosion Methods

When requested to install, set up, and train in different Corrosion test methods, we generally fall under the categories listed below. As your expert, we can guide you through the test method and necessary training on the cabinet. If you have any reservations about the type of chamber necessary to test your product, give us a call. If we can’t help you, we will connect you with someone who can.

  1. Salt Spray Testing (ASTM B117) – Simulates marine and industrial environments by exposing materials to a salt mist to assess their resistance to corrosion.
  2. Electrochemical Testing – Uses techniques like potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) to measure corrosion rates.
  3. Immersion Testing – Submerges materials in a specific corrosive solution for a set duration to observe their reaction.
  4. Atmospheric Corrosion Testing – Exposes materials to real-world environmental conditions, including humidity, pollutants, and temperature fluctuations.
  5. High-Temperature Corrosion Testing – Assesses how materials degrade under extreme heat, such as in gas turbines or boilers.
  6. Pitting and Crevice Corrosion Testing – Determines the susceptibility of metals to localized corrosion, often in chloride-rich environments.
  7. Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC) Testing – Evaluates how materials behave under combined mechanical stress and corrosive conditions.
  8. Galvanic Corrosion Testing – Examines the interaction between two different metals in an electrolyte, identifying potential galvanic corrosion risks.
Why Corrosion Testing is Important
  • Material Selection: Helps in choosing the right material for specific environments.
  • Safety Assurance: Prevents failures in critical structures like bridges, pipelines, and aircraft.
  • Cost Reduction: Minimizes maintenance and replacement costs by identifying corrosion-resistant materials.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensures materials meet industry standards such as ASTM, ISO, and NACE.

Our Calibration and Repair Service for Environmental Chambers and Cabinets

Calibration and repair of environmental testing equipment ensure the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of devices used to simulate environmental conditions like temperature, humidity, vibration, and pressure. Here’s a breakdown of both processes:

1. Calibration of Environmental Testing Equipment

Calibration is the process of comparing the measurements of an environmental testing device to a known standard (usually traceable to NIST, ISO, or other regulatory bodies). It ensures that the equipment provides accurate and consistent readings.  Measured items include Temperature, Humidity, Pressure, Time, and Device Control Settings.

Our Process Method In Calibration

Pre-Calibration Check – Inspect the device or equipment for any visible damage or irregularities. Check that maintenance items are up-to-date.

Reference Standard Comparison – Measure environmental parameters using a certified reference instrument.

Adjustment (if needed) – If readings are outside acceptable tolerances, adjustments are made.

Documentation – A calibration certificate is issued with before/after data, measurement uncertainties, and compliance status.

Common Equipment That Requires Calibration

Temperature & humidity chambers
Thermal shock chambers
Vibration test systems
Altitude chambers
Salt spray (corrosion) test chambers
UV/weathering test systems
Agree Chambers
HALT & HASS Chambers
Data Acquisition Equipment used in measuring thermocouples
Hand Held Temperature Meters
Humidity Sensors

Why Calibration and Repair Are Important?

Ensures compliance with industry standards (ISO 17025, ASTM, MIL-STD, etc.).
Improves test result accuracy and reliability.
Prevents unexpected failures during product testing.
Extends equipment lifespan and reduces downtime.

2. Repair of Environmental Testing Equipment

Repair involves diagnosing and fixing faults in the equipment to restore proper functionality. We provide repairs for all types of environmental test chambers and cabinets. For some brands, we may use a third-party qualified technician to perform the service on the chamber as we directed.

Common Repair Services:

Sensor Replacement – Faulty temperature, humidity, or pressure sensors are replaced.

Controller Troubleshooting – Issues with control panels or software glitches are fixed.

Mechanical Component Repair – Fans, compressors, and other moving parts are repaired or replaced.

Electrical Repairs – Fixing wiring, circuits, and power supply issues.

Leak Detection & Refrigerant Refill – Addressing coolant leaks in climate chambers.
